Task Updates Week 16 & 17

Week 16 (Dec 2 - Dec 8)
Directors' Meeting (1 hr)
Hospitality/Development meeting (1 hr)
Flyering for party (30 min)
Pick up food, buttons for party (30 min)
Hanukkah Party + set up (6 hr)
General prep, brainstorming, etc. (1 hr)
Frequent flyer mile research (1 hr)
Meeting with Jill about FF miles (1 hr)

So I think the party went really well this week!  Having D&D Sluggers play was definitely a good move, and something we should consider for future parties.  The raffle also looked really good.  I think Ally and Audra did an excellent job.  Can't wait to really go all out next semester.

Have been researching Delta and US Airways (the airlines that fly into ILM) and it seems like US has a "registry" of sorts that allows you to donate miles.  I wonder if we could use this?  Jill and I met and will each call an airline this weekend so we can have something for our Final Update.

Week 17 (Dec 9 - Dec 13)
Calendar tweaking (1 hr)
Planning for next semester (4 hr)
Prezi for next semester (1 hr)
Researching and contacting Delta (1 hr 30 min)
Hospitality/Development meeting and chit chat (2 hr)

So I'm really glad I made that crazy flow chart web thingy that I did for our presentation, it helped me a LOT with organizing the myriad of things Hosp is responsible for next semester.  It will also be nice to have something to show the new team.

As we get closer and closer to next semester, I'm itching to get going on a lot of this stuff.  I think I'll end up spending a lot of time over break researching and planning as much as I can, not just because I should, but because I want to, too.  I think the vibe of the class will be a lot more energized, too, because we see the payoff waaay closer to us.

It seems that US Airways is off the table for some sort of frequent flyer mile donation campaign, but I've sent messages to a few people in Delta so we'll see!  If not, Shannon brought up a good point in class that maybe we can just pick the Keynote or something to donate miles to, and do a campaign specifically for that.  One ticket is better than no tickets!
