A few things from this week:
- Ally has been having problems with securing Satellite, so we decided to cut our losses and go for a new venue, Annex Surf Supply. I think that before now Visions has normally had its events downtown, so I think it will actually be more beneficial to us to switch up the geography and branch out into some other places. I think it may even be better than Satellite if we can secure everything. I also this this idea of the Sunset BYOFF is more appealing to different crowds than just a party late night downtown. I can't wait to see how it goes, especially with the Film Kid Mixer (another great idea) happening the week before to advertise.
- Swag Bag contacts are beginning! This week, I am going to price things and start making some calls/stop-ins. By class next week, I want to present a specific plan and budget for the things I want us to get.
- Since there was a snow day this Wednesday, we conducted our entire meeting off of Google Docs. This went really well - in some ways, maybe even better than class does sometimes. Because everyone was required to comment, we got some input that people may not have happened in class, where conversations can be difficult if people are hesitant to speak. Maybe we can utilize this kind of thing more often.
